MEDICAL UNIVERISTY OF SOUTH CAROLINA

PARTNERS AT MEALS (PAM) RESEARCH STUDY

The purpose of this research study is to see if delivering a telehealth mealtime training program to Caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease and/or related dementias or providing educational materials to Caregivers is the better way to improve meal-time enjoyment in the home and overall quality of life for both the Caregiver and their loved-one.

If you are eligible and agree to take part in this 6-month study, you and your-loved one will be partnered with a research team member and have an online meeting with them each month over a period of 6 months. During these meetings, you will work together to devise a monthly meal plan for your loved-one and monitor its progress. You will also be asked to complete monthly surveys about your loved-one’s overall quality of life and their mealtime behaviors. You may or may not benefit from this study; however, a potential benefit includes receiving training and information about caring for people with dementia and mealtime issues. You will also receive study compensation for your time and effort.

If you are interested in learning more or to see if you may be eligible to join this research study, please answer the short set of questions below. If you are eligible, you will be asked to provide your contact information where you can be reached. An MUSC researcher will contact you to provide more details about the study, ask a couple more eligibility questions, and answer any questions that you might have.
