Program Overview
The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Integrated Departmental Education for Administrators (IDEA) Program is a comprehensive program developed to meet the research administration needs of our campus in fundamentals, pre-award, and post-award.
The goals are to:
• Increase assurance of compliance of state, federal, and university policies and procedures
• Provide staff with training (and tools) for their role in grants administration
• Improve research administration service to faculty
Who Should Attend?
IDEA is designed for staff involved in the administration of all aspects of research and sponsored projects that are funded by extramural or internal sources.
Training Structure
The IDEA Program is divided into three content areas: Fundamentals, Pre-Award, and Post-Award. Each area consists of a set of courses for staff members who support the sponsored research enterprise at MUSC. Each course includes a webâ€'based assessment of the participant’s comprehension of key topics. In order to earn a certificate, participants are required to take a predetermined number of courses with the IDEA program curriculum.
Schedule
Spring 2019 Program Schedule: 9-week course, approximately March 5th, 2019 through May 7th, 2019.
