Patient Engagement Group Needs Assessment |
The Special Populations Core in the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute has developed a new service to assist investigators with development of competitive research applications. Patient Engagement Groups (PEG) will be used as a strategy for obtaining feedback from individuals who have lived or are living with a particular disease or condition. PEGs can help researchers identify the likelihood of research participation. PEGs would use a didactic process to address the research issues identified by the investigator. Written feedback from the PEGs would be tailored to each proposal following a semi-structured discussion with patients.
